Monastery of St. Gertrude

Summer Sabbatical

During 2003, I spent a sabbatical summer as a volunteer at the Benedictine women's Monastery of St. Gertrude in Cottonwood, Idaho. For many years I've been curious about monastic life and I felt immensely privileged to be a part of this community of work and prayer. The sisters at St. Gertrude's are deeply kind, welcoming, and full of joy and life-- I loved being with them! I also enjoyed the many hours of solitude I found in the daily rhythm and my long walks in the prairie and woods. This season of rest and healing was a tremendous gift. Find out more about the community at www.StGertrudes.org .
