Return to Center A Small Group Experience of Spiritual Reflection and Intention Led by Artist & Spiritual Director, Melanie Weidner
Day & Time: Thursday evenings, 7:00-8:30pm Dates: October 30- November 20, 2008. Will not continue December 4 &11. Location: East Burnside Building, 1715 E Burnside St, Portland OR 97214. See map. Meeting room in the attic of this beautiful building of wellness & therapy offices. Street parking is easy, or parking lot on east side of the big yellow & cream 3-story house/building. Cost: $20 suggested donation-- flexible. Who: Women and men, college age and older, who are interested in life-affirming spiritual conversation and supportive practice. Purpose: We need support as crisis events, media, and culture pull us to choose fear over Love, panic over peace. I want to create a space to share our best stories, hopes, and prayers for gathering strength to be people of hope and Light. Please join me for a small group experience and conversation around "Returning to Center." We'll explore ways to come back to ourselves and our souls, reconnect with the Divine, and remember the love and energy we want to offer in the world. All spiritual traditions welcome. Our variety of spiritual paths and practices will make the conversation rich and inspiring! What will happen: Each week will be different, but I imagine all of them will include things like poetry, good questions, art, silence, sharing, prayer practices, and maybe some simple hands-on worshipful activities. Come along and help shape the circle. We'll try it for four weeks and see how it goes and what wants to happen! Sorry, we won't have snacks or candles, as per the rules of building use. Your water bottle is fine to bring.
