Copyright Permissions: Image Use & Copyright Information

Thank you for your interest in using my imagery or text. I'm thrilled when my work can benefit the creativity and spirituality of others. Please do not copy, print, project, or transmit any of my images, text, or content without prior permission from me, Melanie Weidner. Thanks-- I look forward to hearing from you. Let's agree on permissions and fees that support both your work and mine.

Please contact me with information about your image use request. In most cases, I will ask for image use fees to support my living and working. Please use the list of questions below to help me know how best to respond from my fee scale. My replies can take up to two weeks (no office staff yet!), so please plan enough time for a response. I can often reply more quickly if you use the questions below.

Please note that permission must be secured to use my art work and/or text in any media, including blogs, websites and PowerPoint presentations, before the use begins. I appreciate your care with this, to help me protect my copyright and livelihood.

Questions to answer in your request:

1. Briefly describe your project.

2. Briefly describe your organization or yourself and your purpose. Are you a non-profit/charity?

3. What media are you using-- online, print, PowerPoint, book publishing, etc.?

4. How many images or pieces of text do you want to use? What are their titles?

5. Will you be using these images more than once, or in more than one format?

6. What is your intended number of copies or number of viewers?

7. Is your project on-going or a date-specific event, like a conference or worship service?

8. Will you be selling printed version of my images, and if so, what is your wholesale and retail price, each?

Answering these questions in your contact email or call will greatly speed my reply process. While I can't accommodate every request, I will do my best to consider your inquiry. Preference given to projects that promote compassion, justice, and spiritual well-being.

Ok to text-link to my website anytime:

Anytime, you are welcome to use a text link to my website home page or a particular page, to point your readers to my work from your site or blog. Please always include my name and website address. Like this example:

"I loved this image by artist Melanie Weidner at www.ListenForJoy.com, called Deep Breath. Check it out-- it made me want to sing!"

This kind of text link doesn't require permission-- I appreciate you sharing your enthusiasm with a link anytime. But please do not lift or copy my images to your website or blog, or use them in PowerPoint presentations or in other ways, without my written agreement. In most cases, I ask for image use fees to support my livelihood.
