Wow-- something wonderful happened to create this painting! It's a combination of images superimposed, including my chest x-rays from the car accident in '05, the Orange Mapwing Butterfly from the Opening painting honoring Matt Lyon, inner space that reminds me of Breathe and Deep Breath, and even the image of a tuning fork!

This image speaks to me of how vibrant and alive we all can be, especially when we're in alignment with God/Love and our best selves. We get to listen close to the ring of truth within us, just as we would listen closely to the hum of the tuning fork. I believe this painting represents the kind of work I offer in spiritual direction sessions as well-- to help others hear the truth in themselves and in the world around us, to bring about the transformations we need.

What do you see in this image? Send me a note to let me know!

From another passage I wrote about this image:

Each human spirit is a vibrant expression of the Great Spirit, full of Light and the power of transformation, represented by the journey of the butterfly. The spaciousness and fullness of the Divine is within us all, as the air is within the temple of our lungs, giving us Life in every moment.

We each also carry a unique way to recognize the Light or to "hear" the guidance of the Spirit within us. Like a tuning fork, our inner knowing will hum or vibrate with the Truth that is our own way to follow. When our guts start to sing with this note, that signals the path!

Sometimes others won't hear it or understand the vibration as we know it. Yet if we stay true to our spirit and its particular pitch, we will find our way through the dark and just might inspire them to listen to their own inner guidance to find their path as well.

Sometimes our Light, spaciousness, and inner tuning get buried with the junk of lies, injuries, self-doubt, scarcity thinking, and fear. It can seem that we have no guidance, no hope, no goodness in us. But this is never, ever true. At any time, in any bleak place, we can ask for the Holy Spirit to breathe in us, to begin to loosen the junk and create the space within to hear the tune of Truth. This inner guidance and knowing is always with us, always ready for us to return to the sacred practices of listening, breathing, and shining our Light. In time, we will know the way when we ask to find it. And then we will fly!
