Thin as a Fact

July 1997 – watercolor, ink – 22×30″

Art text:  You cannot cram the glory of God into something so thin as a fact. –Madeleine L’Engle

At a conference, I heard author Madeleine L’Engle tell of her response to a man who asked her if the Bible were true.  She replied to him, “You cannot cram the glory of God into something so thin as a fact.” I treasured her answer and made this painting in response.
